Senior Adult Writers

Meals 7 Wheels Senior Center Program is sponsoring a senior adult writing contest for people ages 60 and older.  Contestants should write about an important event in their lives to share with future generations.  Entries must be typewritten or legibly handwritten, double spaced and no more than three pages in length.

Entries must be submitted by Friday, September 3rd to: Rose Moyer, Meals & Wheels, P.O. Box 85, Waco 76703.

7th Annual Waco Cultural Arts Fest

Description:
Waco Cultural Arts Festival takes place along the banks of the beautiful Brazos River in downtown Waco. Visual art and cultural entertainment both day and night with 200 artists, 30 performances, over 4 acres, 2 days activities. An eclectic variety of fine art from 50 juried artists including ceramics, painting, photography, woodcarvings, glassworks, jewelry and multi-media compositions. The Concert stage features more than 200 local, regional and national entertainers including children’s entertainment during the two-day celebration. “Arts for All” hands-on arts activities and interactive arts demonstrations for the entire family. Over 10 different menus are offered at Arts Fest food courts along with soda, specialty beers, wine and margaritas. Cost is free to public. For more information contact 254/772-7637.

48th Annual Friends Booksale. This is the annual fundraiser that goes to support our local library programs. The Sul Ross Dance Club offers this invitation to their regular open dance each Thursday night.
